I thought about mixing different kinds of stripes with another kind of pattern, but at the same time keep it soft and not overdone... I decided to put this cotton black and white dress which has a simple flower design with my black striped tights. Finally, I added my purple and gray striped cardigan to add some color to the outfit.
There's still a cold wind out, but I'm pretending that's not true because I felt like not wearing tights with this outfit. I wanted this to feel like spring, and I did feel like it was when I was wearing this... I love florals because they can be varied and worn in so many different ways. This was my favorite floral look of mine.
I've been getting a lot of use recently out of these H&M ballet flats - because they're white, I can wear them with basically any outfit and they always give each look an overall delicate and pretty appearance. I especially like pairing them with the black blazer, as well as wearing them with skinny jeans and a scarf; this is probably my favorite kind of urban look.
My very gracious boyfriend took these photos at one of the few points in the day when it wasn't viciously raining. Even though this look doesn't scream Independence Day, I think it has a kind of America-in-the-50's charm to it... I think the dress has a hint of vintage about it and the ballet flats add to this a bit as well...
